I was born in a small town called Beitbridge in Zimbabwe. My dad wanted a better life for us so he decided to move the whole family over to England in 2002 my mother and 2 brother, one older Talbert and one younger Alex.
As a young child I was always into sports at St Pius school I used to play football, cricket and just loved PE in general. As I got older I followed friends to a Boxercise class which I loved! The coaches recommended me to an amateur club – Middlesbrough ABC where I learnt my craft for 10 years with Tony Whitby.
“As an amateur I was selected to box for Team GB Olympic boxing team leading up to Rio 2016 and travelled the world to places like Germany, Turkey & Finland, boxing for my county and learning the trade at the highest level.”
I went to St David’s Secondary School in Acklam – a very good school, I always got a lot of support from the teachers with my boxing! Growing up in Park End estate the bad temptations of going out with friends and causing trouble was always there but I can say boxing definitely kept me focused and out of trouble.
As an amateur I was selected to box for Team GB Olympic boxing team leading up to Rio 2016 and travelled the world to places like Germany, Turkey & Finland, boxing for my county and learning the trade at the highest level. When it was time to turn over into the pro ranks Frank Warren promotions signed me to an contract and am on my way to first title fight with an 8-0 record.
Biggest boxing inspiration are B-hop Bernard Hopkins, Muhammad Ali and Floyd Mayweather. My ambitions are to reach the top of the sport and bring a world title back to my home town Middlesbrough! I hope to inspire a Lot of youngster coming up not just in boxing but in everyday life that if you work hard anything is possible.
